We believe that
- Warm, responsive relationships are at the heart of healthy development and future success.
- Childhood is a unique and valuable stage of life, and understanding the world from a child’s perspective allows us to better meet their needs and support how they learn best.
- Holistic development is essential. We view each child as a whole person, aiming to nurture their social, emotional, and academic growth and confidence.
How we do it...
OUR EDUCATION MODEL
- At Sharp Kids, we embrace the principles of the Finnish Education System (widely regarded as the best in the world) by combining emotional intelligence with academic competence.
- By blending Finland’s research-based curriculum with our own expertise and passion for young learners, we’ve created a unique LEARNING environment for children.
- Our educational approach is informed by the latest neurological and educational research. We are committed to continually introducing innovative ideas to ensure our children benefit from the most effective teaching techniques.

HOW WE TEACH
- Learning takes place through play-based activities, allowing children to explore and discover in a fun, engaging way. We avoid placing pressure on children to compete or outdo one another.
- We encourage children to use their five senses and incorporate physical activity into their learning, creating a unique and experiential educational process.
- We teach primarily in English but also accommodate Afrikaans and other African languages as needed. Contrary to popular belief, research has shown that young children are especially adept at mastering a second language. This skill not only boosts communication abilities but also provides significant benefits for overall brain development.
- A rotation system between classes enables children to benefit from each teacher’s unique strengths
- Teacher Jasmine inspires creativity through arts and crafts.
- Teacher Ilana brings science and math to life.
- Teacher Hubre fosters language development through drama, singing, and play.
- Teacher Carina is responsible for Gross – motor develoment.
This dynamic approach ensures every child has a well-rounded and enriching experience.
COMMUNICATION AND COMMUNITY
Parents are the most important people in a child’s life, and we believe that maintaining open communication is essential.
Regular feedback and meaningful collaboration between parents and teachers help us build a strong, supportive community.

Logistics
- Sharp Kids Pre-school is registered with the Department of Education as a full-day pre-school. Our premises are appropriately zoned, and all health and safety requirements are met.
- We cater to children between the ages of 2 and 6 years, offering both half-day and full-day options. The school is open from 7:15 AM to 5:00 PM, with aftercare beginning at 1:15 PM.
- Small class sizes ensure each child enjoys optimal teacher involvement. Assessments are informal and ongoing, ensuring that every child develops and grows at their own pace.
